I got my first bulldog Emma Katinka, when I turned 20 and have been hooked ever since. Emma was my constant shadow-attending college with me, buying my first house with me, and traveling across country with me.  Four years later, I got involved in Boston terrier and Boxer rescue through a friend of mine, and happened to be at a shelter the day a bulldog came in and ended up taking him home. Luke had a history of neglect and behavioral problems, and ended up staying with me for the rest of his life. After finding Luke, and working with him I felt I had found my niche, and I decided I wanted to get more involved in helping my breed. It is then that I joined my local club, The Bulldog Club of Northern California.

Through being involved in bulldog rescue, I met my mentors -Mary Aiken of Silverspoon Bulldogs and Jennifer Joseph of Adamant Bulldogs. They both of have been incredible teachers about the breed and very patient with me from day one. Robert, my boyfriend, has also been very supportive and it is because of him that I started training and showing Nikki (BISS Ch Silverspoon InThe Nick of Time) in March of 2004- actually it would probably be more accurate to say that she taught me how to show. Nikki finished in 7 months (at 13 months old) with 4 majors (one specialty major) and 1 single point. Piglet (Ch Adamant Limited Edition)  came to live with us in late May of 2004 and has since been my constant baby; you could never ask for a sweeter boy. He finished in October 2005 with limited showing, taking 4 majors (2 specialty majors) and a Best in Show Puppy.

I lost Luke soon after we moved to Dunnigan in 2005, after a battle with Wobbler’s Syndrome. He had come so far in such a short amount of time, and we miss him. I also just lost my best friend Emma last month; she was 10 ½ years old. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her dearly.
